In 2023 I began writing a screenplay that I won’t finish anytime soon, and our current, small production team won’t be able to shoot. In-person Now was born from accepting that impossibility without giving up on the story. It is the transmedia strategy to start telling it now.
The story follows a Latina who migrates to the United States with her family and reinvents herself as a service technician. On the Sunday before her latest return to a Silicon Valley office, she refuses, once again, to see it as a defeat, reckoning with the contradictions she has visited so many times throughout her past lives: what others consider worthy of being called work, and the body they demand to have in front of them for their authority to feel real.
The screenplay becomes a horizon and, meanwhile, different nodes, sometimes narrative and sometimes not, build the bible of its universe. These are the first ones:
